We have supplied The Wedding Present Company since its inception in 1994. Over the years they have provided countless brides and grooms with the joyful experience of creating their personal, bespoke wedding lists in an inspiring and luxurious environment. We recently had a chat with Georgie Evans, the Managing Director, about her own wedding list experience and what makes WPC so special.
GEORGIE, WE HAVE WORKED WITH THE WEDDING PRESENT COMPANY SINCE IT'S EARLY YEARS BACK IN THE 90'S WITH JIM AND MELANIE DUNDAS, CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT HOW THE COMPANY CAME TO EXIST.
Ah how lovely! Jim and Melanie Dundas set the business up back in 1994, after realising whilst planning their own wedding that there wasn’t a wedding list company available that offered them a bespoke and tailored service for their wedding list. High street options were available, but none offered a truly personal service when it came to building a list of wedding presents that was tailored to their needs and that would last them a lifetime.
Spotting a gap in the market, the business was born out of their sitting room and naturally evolved through word of mouth recommendations into what we know today as The Wedding Present Company! We still very much operate on the foundation that they established of good old fashioned customer service and a truly personal and tailored approach to each wedding list.

We are a small bespoke business and really pride ourselves on the experience our couples have with us. We get to know each couple personally and tailor their experience to suit their specific needs.
YOU JOINED THE COMPANY 4 YEARS AGO, HOW HAS YOUR PREVIOUS CAREER IN FASHION HELPED YOU IN YOUR ROLE AS MANAGING DIRECTOR OF THE WEDDING PRESENT COMPANY?
4 years! How the time has whizzed by! I spent almost 10 years in the luxury fashion market, which gave me a great insight into the importance of customer experience and the value of the relationship between a brand and their client. Understanding the needs of our couples and adapting to these is one of the most important aspects of our business.
I GATHER YOU FIRST EXPERIENCED THE COMPANY WHEN YOU CREATED YOUR OWN LIST THERE A FEW YEARS BEFORE JOINING, AS A CUSTOMER HOW DID YOU PERSONALLY FIND THE EXPERIENCE?
The Wedding Present Company came highly recommended to my husband and I by a number of our married friends, so it was a no brainer for us to use the company for our wedding list. From the very first moment we stepped into the London Showroom we knew we had made the right decision! Instantly, we were made to feel at home and our wedding list advisor was just wonderful. She took the time to understand us as a couple, what our style was and what we were hoping to achieve from our wedding list – all without us even realising! The service didn’t stop there, at every point of our journey with the company we were treated like royalty and it was such a spoiling experience. Even our delivery day was full of unexpected generosity and delight. It was, without a doubt, a real highlight in our wedding planning experience and a really lovely part of wedding planning to do together.
WHAT ARE YOUR TOP TIPS FOR COUPLES WHEN CREATING A WEDDING LIST AND HOW DO YOU KEEP THE GROOMS HAPPY?
It’s always good to have a rough idea of what you want to achieve from your wedding list before you start. Are you starting a home from scratch or looking to upgrade an already established home? One of my biggest tips when putting items on your wedding list is to think about your thank you letters… certain items are harder to say thank you for in a sincere way, for example, a wooden spoon! It’s good to think about brands you already love, but don’t worry if you don’t know where to begin – that’s where the expertise of your very own wedding list advisor comes in!
Keeping the grooms happy is easier than you might expect! Many come to Showroom or Virtual Appointments feeling a little apprehensive but thanks to the way we tailor each experience to the couple, we make sure we listen to what the groom wants just as much as the bride and make suggestions based on this. Many leave saying how much they enjoyed the experience! Also, the unlimited beer fridge and free-flowing champagne in the showroom always helps!
YOU OFFER COUPLES THE ABILITY TO ADD ITEMS TO THE LIST WHICH ARE NOT FROM YOUR REGULAR SUPPLIERS, WHAT IS THE MOST UNUSUAL AND WHAT IS THE MOST ROMANTIC GIFT WHICH HAS BEEN REQUESTED?
Over the years we have seen some wonderful additions to lists! Some stand out additions include a speed boat, a life sized Perspex gorilla for the garden and a Puppy Fund!

I adore all Addison Ross frames – we had LOADS on our wedding list! It is such a treat to have brilliant quality frames, especially when you have some lovely wedding pictures to frame! If I were to choose a frame from your current collection, it would be the beautiful Miki Blue Marquetry frame. I love the elegant details of this frame and the colours are so beautiful. I would choose a picture from our last holiday to Sri Lanka to be printed in there. One of the most beautiful countries I have ever had the privilege to visit!
